Welcome to Tidy Town!

Spring is around the corner and after being cooped up all winter, we long for the outdoors, sunshine and freshness.
The change in seasons comes with a change in our wardrobes and a need to organized and disinfect.
Spring cleaning can be very overwhelming... With so many things to take care of, it's easy to not know where to start and just quit all at once. So, I'd like to share with you some strategies that hopefully would help you get the job done!

1. Develop a plan. Create a checklist of all the cleaning you wish to accomplish in the home by rooms.

Use this free printable checklist to come up with your own tasks!

2. Set a timeline. Nobody better than you know how much or how little free time you have. Be realistic with the time you have available! Divide the task by weeks or months, and don't dwell too much in the overall goal. Instead, focus on your immediate, short term goals to not get overwhelm.

3.Create a cleaning supply list. In order to get the house spic and span you need to have the necessary tools. Think what products you will need to use to tackle the job, so once you start, you don't have to go to the store for forgotten items.

If you would like to make your own green supplies, here is a very helpful guide:

If you don't have the time to make your own eco-friendly cleaning products, then buy them! Here are some of the most popular brands:

4. Get rid of clutter. Cleaning is so much easier when there is not clutter.
Divide the items into three categories: KEEP/DONATE/TRASH. Then, use containers to organize the elected items. Label them if you'd like as well.

5. Involve your kids in the process. I don't know how you feel about giving your kids house chores. My husband and I believe that life skills are very beneficial for our kids. It gives them independence, teaches them how to take care of their things, and prepares them for adulthood.

We have been using the method accountable kids.com for years and it has been very helpful for our family. Check it out!

If you wonder what tasks are appropriate for your kids  according to their ages, here is a guideline.

Teach your kids to do and fold their own laundry!:0

You will feel so much better knowing that your house is clean from all the winter germs and things have a place to go. You will be proactive keeping your family as healthy as possible from diseases, and you won't waste more time trying to find things!

Enjoy the smell of clean!

                        Love,

                            Angelica
